Estrella Sung immigrated to the United States at age five when her family began the first of many deployments of her father’s 20-year Army career. Military life offered a world-class education, with 12 years of multicultural experiences living and traveling to the Philippines, Hawaii, Germany, Poland, France, England, and finally settling in the Pacific Northwest.

After graduating from the University of Washington with a Communications degree, she immersed herself in the advertising and graphic design fields for more than a decade. In the early 2000s, she joined the AEC industry as a graphic designer for a global environmental company and quickly branched out to marketing professional services.

For the past 20 years, she has worked with a variety of AEC firms, including an 8(a), SDVOSB, minority-owned firm that won multiple awards for diversity in public works projects such as the $100M Department of State US Embassies Worldwide.

She serves as a consultant at Tabor100, on King County’s 4Culture panel, and SMPS as a past board member and mentor for small WMBE businesses. Currently a certified MWBE/DBE/SCS consultant, she works as a DEI consultant partner with Darling Nava, working on day-to-day tasks, updating clients on equal opportunity and affirmative action regulations for diversity and inclusion to M/WBE | SBE | DBE and local business subcontractors. She has worked with GCs, MEP, and various engineering subcontractors to win public and private sector projects during her decades-long career working for construction industry giants.

Digital Designer

Elexia Johnson earned a masters in digital marketing from Roehampton University and works as a freelancer. She has 6 years of experience in graphic design and illustration. An avid traveler, she never leaves home without her trusted travel companion cat, Macaroni. She loves all things nerdy and spends “me time” playing video games and watching movies.

Her design projects include the Liberty Project brand identity, Grit City Magazine of Tacoma, Mama Bear Transit, the holiday Hemlock Printers gift wrap, El Sueñito Brewing Company branding, and Microsoft + Knack Collective graphic/production.

On-call UX/UI and Art Directors

Mei Chi Chin has 20+ years of experience designing innovative and intuitive digital user experiences and user interface (UX/UI) for websites and mobile applications. She is a key team member on a number of start-ups and often leads teams in tight turnaround projects. Her background in UX/UI developed over multiple years with Vulcan (a Paul Allen company) working with product managers, software engineers, and QA engineers. She is strongly committed to DEI values and believes diverse and inclusive teams generate more innovative and creative solutions.

Her portfolio of projects include big box retail and travel websites, the Jackson Apts website, Earthranger software solutions, Living Computers Museum + Labs, and the Vulcan Real Estate Art Walk Interactive Map.
